Series 3 moves on with Paul Cornell's tale of a Timelord hiding in human clothing, Martha cleaning house, and the Family of Blood getting an outrageous case of the sniffles. Now grab your partners and let's go for a waltz!
So what did you think of the start of this two-part story? And what's the betting Barnaby posts that he thought it was alright?

Re: Rate "Human Nature"
Oh the best of this period, I felt. It has many things to say that it does not shy from whether or not they may be seen as, shall we say flattering to The Doctor. Likewise whether or not to my liking, the plots they hatched were quite clever and served their purposes well as ways to explore all those ideas. While I would hazard to imagine any of the Doctors could muster a suitable dual performance, Tennant did himself proud in a first rate performance. The ideas of him having these latent memories in his new life and having to be without the love he found in his "true" life were very affecting to me.
Would have easily scored 5/5, but for two points. One, some the the business around the showdown at the school yard fell apart as presented and seemed a bit too forced. Secondly, I was not so tickled with Martha's role as written: not for the usual complaints (having to do with race), which I feel to have had a valid and deliberate point (as metaphor reflecting her true situation in affairs), but rather because she is, I felt, too conveniently ineffectual (as far as having a bearing in plot events). Again the rest, whether or not likable, was brilliant.
Unfortunately I find it hard again to rate this story as two separate eps, so I am rating one at 4/5 and will rate the other 5/5 for an overall 4.5/5.
