The Co=Ordinator wrote:Thanks very much Simon. So these are definitely picks ups for ep 4, but are post ep 5 stuff for the Ponds? Or extra material? Or pick ups? Please excuse my stupidity!

Yes, sorry. I realise that it looks a bit confusing and I've taken a lot of details for granted.

In case you didn't know, the Ponds' house interiors are in Church Road, Penarth, while the exteriors are at Bute Esplanade, Cardiff Bay.

We saw filming for UNIT raiding the Ponds' house interiors over a month ago, and also the set up for them raiding the exteriors in Cardiff Bay too. Now, for some reason, despite having a dozen or so supporting artists as UNIT soldiers on standby and kitted up, and a UNIT landrover, they just filmed the scene with Matt Smith up a tree, and the Ponds leaning out of a window talking to Rory's father, then wrapped without filming the raid.

To summarise. It looks like;
All the filming at Margam, etc. with Jenna was Episode 11.This seeems to then end after Hensol Castle (presumably wrapped), when it was announced they were doing read-throughs for the next episode on or around June 6th (difficult to pin down exactly when they this, presumably the same date Tom Spilsbury tweeted that he was in Cardiff).

Also, 6th June at Ponds' interiors, were, at east some of it, if not all, for this strange extra thing that entails an Ood shacking up with Amy & Rory. Same with the Bute Esplanade Ponds' house exteriors on the afternoon of 7th June (Slate says "WW19") with Doctor on top of Tardis leaving answerphone message for the Ponds using the orange phone.

June 7th morning though, at Plan Café, Morgan Arcade slate saying "1/PreA", is presumably pre-titles or a prequel (or whatever they call it) for episode 1.

June 7th afternoon, simultaneously taking place as "WW19" (above), and amazingly just yards away too in the exact same street in Cardiff Bay, were pickups for Epsiode 4 "Cubed" that they didn't manage to complete a month earlier. This was UNIT raiding the Ponds' house, albeit a cut-back version of the original set-up a month earlier, with only 4 or 5 supporting characters, and no landrover.

The Daily Star reckons The Ice Warriors are back.

If that is the case, then we're in for a monster fest because, alongside the Daleks, I'm told there are 3 other returning monsters.

I suspect this screening will replace the normal press screening, which used to be held in Cardiff, but has been in London for the past few years. That is usually on a Tuesday, like this event, 11 days before the first episode goes out. So, mark Saturday, 25th August, 2012 in your diaries. Nine weeks and five days to go to the start of Series 33a.

It's listed on the BFi website as being at the BFI Southbank on the 14th August, it's being shown at Edinburgh over the bank holiday weekend.

Yes. You're right, my bad. The BFI site is confusing since it lists screenings at The Mediatech as well as "some of the coolest bars and restaurants in London" which can't really stretch to Edinburgh(!)
Plus the TV festival is on 23-25, not 14 August.

So, it's in London, and we don't have to buy a TV festival ticket to attend. Win win!
According to @BFI tickets will cost £13.80, £10.30 for concessions, Members pay £1.50 less.

Yes, we all win! Tickets go on sale on 10th July at 11.30 am.

Also, Cat, I'm afraid that this means that of it's being previewed in Edinburgh over the bank hols then it won't be on the telly until September at the earliest.

TV festival is 23rd-25th. Couldn't they show it on the 23rd or 24th and it would still count as a preview? Full programme announced today, so we should find out when it airs soon.

Can anyone tell me how accurate and reliable the information at www.doctorwhotv.co.uk is? Because according to this announcement from the website of the title on "Asylum of the Daleks", they suggest that the evidence strongly suggests that the UK transmission date will be August 25 (a bank holiday weekend.)

I'm just wondering how seriously we should treat this information.

Possible BBC plans for the 50th anniversary.

A one off Doctor Who special on BBC One.
The making of the one off Doctor Who special on BBC Three.
A documentary on the science of Doctor Who with Professor Brian Cox on BBC Four.
The Doctor Who Proms concert from the Royal Albert Hall featuring music from the series.

Fairly underwhelming tbh.

Add:

More than a one-off special
The Gatiss drama on the origins of Who
The definitive documentary on 50 years of Who
A light entertainment show/quiz of some sort based around the anniversary. It would be the way of getting all living Doctors together.

Delete:

The making of the special.

Didn't they do that with the special "Weakest Link" game, C=O?

Some spoilery type news, Keith "Telly" Topping is reporting on his blog that David Warner is lined up as a guest star on an episode in the second half of Series 7. The very same David Warner who appeared in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, and the two part ST:TNG episode where he played a Cardassian who tortures Picard.

An interesting theory I've read:

"My impression is that it's a series of episodes that are movie homagés. There's one that's Westworld. Another that's one-part Hunt for Red October, one-part The Thing. Something set in prohibition-era NY with Gangsters & Angels. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with Daleks."
