Season Three ends with the Doctor and Dodo returning to London, in 1966.  The Post Office Tower has just been completed.  But there is one big problem- a sentient computer named WOTAN.

And WOTAN seems to have a real problem with biological life forms.  Dodo stays in London, but the Doctor gets two new companions, Ben and Polly.

So what did you think of the denoument to Season Three?  Let's be hearing from you.

The Doctor going to a nightclub and getting mistaken for Jimmy Saville would be enough to give it a 5, but one point knocked off for the woeful treatment of Dodo.

This entertaining bit of fluff would normally get a three, but it gets a point added on for the woeful treatment of Dodo.

An important story, the first set entriely in modern day London. Clever use of the then new Post Office Tower, combined with good locations filming: we did a tour round the area a few years ago at a Wrinkly Drinkly.

4/5 for me.

You know, I never thought of War Machines in those terms, but now you've pointed it out, C=O, you're right: this was the first story to be properly set in the relative present for the show.

I gave this a 4/5.
