Peter Capaldi IS The Doctor.]
I am firmly of the opinion that most of Doctor#11's outfit will remain. The bow-tie went just before the regeneration, so Capaldi will retain the open necked shirt for his run. The purple jacket will go in the first episode, replaced by a short jacket or maybe even a blazer to change the line and silhoutte. I suspect that the footwear will be the only other change.

Don't be so sure, Cat. Several weeks ago, Keith "Telly" Topping's blog reported that Steven Moffat had sent out a tweet reporting that Capaldi had been taken "shopping" by the show's costume designer. So they apparently have gone and gotten him something new to wear.

It's possible that, narrative wise, Capaldi wants to continue wearing Smith clothes, but Clara objects. So he puts on a nightgown & rides a horse!

Nice spy-work, C=O. I think we're being teased on the Doctor's new look.

Whew had the flu so was out of the loop..for a week. ugh. Anyway, I think he won't dress too differently from Eleven, at least for now, as the body had already regenerated it just took awhile for the face to change. He may miss being Eleven for a bit and want to make sure Clara is comfortable with him. Nice pics!

It may be worth remembering that this is the first Doctor of a completely new life cycle. Then again it may not!

He may have tapped a new regeneration cycle, but he's still the Doctor. What I'm waiting to see is the reason RTD gave the Moff for why a marble merchant from ancient Pompeii looks like a civil servant from 2009, and why both now look like the Doctor.

I'm telling you, this was a statement the Moff gave in an interview shortly after the announcement was made that Capaldi had been cast. Apparently, RTD had an explanation for why a Roman marble merchant looked exactly like a civil servant in 2009. So the Moff asked him for the explanation, and decided he liked it, so he's going to use it.

I like the lining on the new coat. Not too thrilled with the shine on the shoes tho.

You think so? Just because of the lining? He looks a bit John Simm as Harold Saxon to me.

Councillor, do you seriously think I have the technical capabilities to produce animated gifs?

A Pertwee-esque nod in the costume. And now, possibly, a new logo. Is it the Eighties Coming Back?

You cannot be serious! A revival of the 80's logo?
If they're going to do that, Murray Gold is going to need to revise the theme song. I insist they bring the sonic boom at the end of an episode back.
