The Eleventh Hour reaches its final minute, as The Doctor regenerates into his 12th Incarnation.

No idea whether or not this is cushty - but seems quite possible, in which case it's a big leak.

Cripes, I'm going to need to get some of those Army of Ghosts/Doomsday glasses to watch this.

It's as fake as a fake thing - clever though!

Global simulcast starting at 8pm BST for the Anniversary Special?

There is a train of thought that the new Doctor will be revealed in a live show on BBC One at 7pm on Sunday 4th August.

Keith Topping's blog reported that there might be a one-off Doctor Who Confidential next month to announce the new Doctor, just as Matt Smith was announced in a Confidential at the end of 2008.

As for a world-wide simulcast, it have to admit it will be a bit strange to see this special at noon, rather than the normal 7PM.

It loks like work, if not as yet filming, is getting underway on the Christmas Special.

Possible, but I suspect Mastermind (and Deadly 60 before it) on Sunday are there as space fillers in case the coverage of the Ride London cycling overruns, though it does seem a bit overcautious.

Would seem highly unlikely at this late stage, I must say.......

Aah, change that - it looks like Celebrity Mastermind will be replaced by the live show announcing 12. Certainly something coming out at Midnight.

I'm going for Daniel Rigby as 12. Which probably means he's got no chance!

I'm hoping that the bookies are right with Peter Capaldi to be honest. Didn't they get Matt right a few days before his announcement?

The money poured on Matt in the 24 hours leading up to the announcement. Of course that show was pre-recorded. I simply can't see it being Capaldi, although I'd be delighted if it was.

Peter Capaldi strikes me as a bit too busy. I mean, he's already a very well known actor.

I'd love it to be Capaldi, but I don't think we live in an awesome enough universe for that to happen.

Chris O'Dowd is the other name floating around tonight but he's doing a bit well in Hollywood, I'd have thought. Unless they reckon he can take the show up a level in international sales and interest.

What, more international than it already is? Doesn't Doctor Who currently beat Top Gear in terms of international revenues for the BBC?

It's been suggested to me that Sunday would be the perfect time to announce any missing episodes.......

My money's gone back to the name that was in the frame years ago: Ben Daniels. The reason? It's his voice in The Next Doctor trailer.

My birthday last year was awesome, as it was Super Saturday at the Olympics and I got six British gold medals. This year's is also going to be awesome as I'm getting a new Doctor! If I get missing episodes back then I think it's getting unfair on the rest of humanity!

(And thanks for the date tip-off - it won me 12 points in the 2013 DWM Exclamation Point League on GB!)

BBC-America has started advertisements today indicating that the announcement of the 12th Doctor casting will be carried live. 2PM Eastern, 11AM Pacific, on Sunday. So, noon for yours truly in the Rocky Mountain West.

Unless there are different versions of it, it definitely wasn't his voice on the one I saw. (You can hear his voice quite regularly on Classic FM, by the way, as he does most of the station idents)
