The TARDIS delivers the Doctor, Sarah Jane and Harry Sullivan (IS AN IDIOT!) to a space station in the far future where the last representatives of humanity have been put in suspended animation due to the risk of deadly solar flairs affecting the Earth. There's only one problem: those folks in suspension should have woken up centuries ago, but didn't. And that has an awful lot to do with an invasion of the space station by the insect-like Wirrn. And it seems that the station's leader, Noah, has quite a few more Wirrn gestating within him. The end of the human race is perilously close.

So, what did you think of The Ark In Space?

It's a brilliant story. Tom really becomes the Doctor, Bob Holmes sends him in the right direction. Isn't this RTD's (and maybe Moffat's) all-time favourite?

Anyway, 5/5 from me.

This one, it absolutely has to be said, has an amazingly tense atmosphere to it. And what astonishes me is that in only Sir Thomas of Baker's second story, they encapuslated the Doctor's relationship with Sarah Jane beautifully. The Wirrn were not exactly the most convincing monsters, but the story was brilliantly done. This will be my first 5/5 for this particular season.
