A Dalek fleet surrounds a lone rebel ship and the Doctor is the only person who can help the ship's crew, but he needs Clara by his side as he, once again, faces his arch-enemies. The Doctor is confronted with a decision that could change The Daleks forever, being forced to examine his conscience as he tries to find the answer to the question 'Am I a good man?'

So, what did you think of Episode 2 of the Capaldi era?  This thread will remain locked until UK transmission of the episode.  This means the standard disclaimer for North American Wrinklies applies: in the interval between UK transmission and transmission on BBC-America or Space, wander in here at your own peril or risk having the episode spoiled for you.

This was an interesting twist on Chris Eccelston's "Dalek." I really enjoyed the dialogue on this, even to Rusty's parting shot at the Doctor: "I am not a good Dalek. You are good Dalek." I'm prepared to give this one a 5.

Theory on Missy's identity. She did the same thing to the soldier about to vaporized by the Dalek antibodies the Doctor did to Journey at the start of the episode, transporting them right at the moment of death. And she referred to the Doctor as her boyfriend. Could she be another Time Lord? Just posing the thought.

There was some decent Dalek action, which I heartily welcome. Power/Evil/Dalek and more provided reference, obviously as well as The Invisible Enemy and Fantastic Voyage. Easily the best Dalek story of the Moffat era.

If you watch Doctor Who Extra (8 minutes onwards), the Fatleks seem to have finally been consigned to history. Thank God. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p025l8p4/doctor-who-extra-series-1-2-into-the-dalek

FWIW at a recent Q&A that Wheatley did about his film work he was asked about Who. He said that it's not really him, and only about 30% Wheatley as it still has to conform with BBC output. He had issues with the 2nd and 3rd unit stuff not matching. He'd not do it again. Same as Adam Smith.

I really enjoyed this episode, although I could see the plot twists coming. Capaldi's Doctor keeps on getting better, as does Jenna Coleman as Clara.A number of people over on GallifreyBase have been moaning about Clara, like the Ponds,  not being a full time companion. I like this, as watching her grow from childhood (prequel to  RoA), a teenager with 'John and Gillian's' mum (Snowman), student working as an au pair for 'John and Gillian's dad" and now a recently qualified teacher, has added immensely to the character. I like the idea of John Watson Danny Pink and I thought he was well introduced in this episode.
OK, so it was another riff on Jubilee with a side order of Incredible Voyage for good measure. But so what, it was a damn fine episode.
