Eurovision is nearly upon us. What a great excuse to revive the Library! Yes my fellow Wrinklies, I'm going to post some of my favourite ESC songs of all time over the next week or so - just for you.

Today's selection goes back to 1965. The awesome Kathy Kirby belts out I belong. One of the numerous UK entries to finish second!

Moving forward to 2001, here's On my own by Heldor. Unbelievably this came joint last. I'll never fathom out the voting on Eurovision.

Ahead of tomorrow night's first semi-final, here's a 70's UK Classic. Infact 1972 to be precise. Beg, Steal or Borrow by The New Seekers.

From last night's first semi-final, proof if ever it were needed of just how mental Eurovision is. 3+2 howl Butterflies. It got through to the final on Saturday!

Last night's second semi-final was far far strogner than the first. There were some really good songs and, as always seems the case nowadays, a couple of good "Western" ones bit the dust.

Particularly disgraceful IMO was the elimination of Ik Ben Verliefd (Sha-la-lie) by Sieneke, a real fun way to spend 3 minutes.
