Possibly my favourite Pertwee story. A cracking, perfectly paced script and all the performaces are astounding.

Spookily enough I watched the first 2 episodes of this last night. It's an excellent story, & by some way the best of the generally overrated season 7.

So that's an Awesome from me. Smile

Saw some more of this last night (3-5). Having, a few months ago, watched the whole Planet of the Apes movie saga, it dawned on me during episode 5 just how much of an influence the original Apes movie had on Mac Hulke.

Interesting. I've been watching the Planet of the Apes movies recently as well, they've been playing them in sequence on cable. I'll have to rewatch Silurians with that in mind.

Speak loud and proud, brother Flair!

But having said that, my land-locked cousins story is still top class Pertwee action.

I inserted this DVD in my player for the 1st time this afternoon. When it originally broadcast over here it was in black & white. It's the first time I've ever seen it in color. I'm quite enjoying it. I'll vote when I'm done. However, the "Beneath the Surface" doco makes me want to get it for my 13 year old niece.

Now I've voted. I've also watched 'The Sea Devils'. They're quite good. Above Average for the dramas of the time. Plus, they are among the better Pertwee stories. Now all that's left for me is 'Warriors of the Deep'.

I do appreciate how they left open the two Reptilian endings so that they could be brought back. It'd be easy for them to return in a modern-day story. Now that I've watched them, I do hope they return.
