NER Very Happy

Sure, if you only watch pervo French movies my dear, you're gonna be disappointed. We're so pure and innocent that we're not very good at that kind of movies. ^^

Amongst my fav French movies, you could try some Louis Malle (Aurevoir les enfants), Patrice Chéreau (Intimacy, Ceux qui m'aiment prendront le train), François Truffaut (Jules et Jim), some Claude Miller (like La meilleure façon de marcher), L'outremangeur by Thierry Binisti, La haine by Kassovitz, Guillaume Canet also is a promising director in my opinion, any movies with Dewaere is a good movie to me ^^, Les Valseuses is a MUST see (I'm sure you'll like this one, Richie Razz), Mais qui a tué Pamela Rose is also a masterpiece (I did translate this one for Zolti, if anyone wants it... just don't be afraid of bad English Very Happy), oh and there is Vincent, François, Paul... et les autres!!! and... whuat? It's off topic? Razz It's still about movies... *is cute* ^^

Oooh thanks, I shall watch some of these. I think we've got some at work. I've never watched a Goddard or a Truffaut film, so I should then I'd be able to drop them into conversations to impress women!

I did see a good French film - called "I'm Harry, I'm Here to Help". It was very good.

Hrmm the movie you're talking about, is it by the way the one with Sergi Lopez? *checks Imdb for the French title* Yep, tis the one. I liked it too. Sergi is a great actor. Smile

And to stay into the topic, I'm reaaaally not a fan of Goddard. Razz

The worst film in the world is Highlander 2.

It's so bad that I don't even want to watch the "loads better, honest" directors cut.

I saw Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation last night in hope that it would be as bad as Highlander 2, and it wasn't. It even retained the satirical edge by wrapping an otherwise tawdry Vietnam experience in obvious Propoganda nonsense.

I thought Night Watch would be quite bad, but it ended up being oddly cool. It was like Russia had been sniggering up it's sleeve at Hollywood for years and then lets this interesting and visceral little nugget go, knowing that it kills poseurs but leaves cool people standing.

Same here, I keep meaning to watch the "renegade" version, but I just can't imagine any amount of editing fixing that mess.

Razz

Season 6b out of ten, sir.
The original movie is good. It just is. The bits that are slightly under par are more than balanced by the bits that dance in front of your face screaming "I'm a lovely piece of cinematography! Why am I in thsi movie?" or "This sword fight is second only to the one in Princess Bride, which makes fencing champions get all unneccessary! Why are Clancy Brown and Christopher Lambert involved in it?"

And, of course, it lacks only BRIAN BLESSED!!* and a Queen soundtrack to have everything Flash Gordon had to save it from mediocrity. Except...wait! no! It _does_ have a Queen soundtrack!

See? Well worth a few beers and a bit of a watch after an evening elsewhere.

Just, remember that Highlander movies are like Immortals. There can be only one.

The resultant derailing has been split and moved to forumology. The Moderators responsible for the silliness are very sorry.

Indeed. Though now I'm the thread starter for a thread about shouting BRIAN BLESSED!, so it's not a total loss.

Now, on the subject of horrible movies...The Creeping Terror. A monster so lame, you have to put yourself into it's mouth for it to kill you.
