Re: Rate the Hinchcliffe era
5/5
Probably the only time the original series had the visual creativity equal to its narrative one. It's biggest flaw is the thematic similarity between its stories (I mean, how many times was Sarah Jane hypnotised during this era?) but this was more than made up for in it's sheer verve.
Oh, and its other downside was that a generation of Who fans decided that it should be the template for Dr Who from here on in. Nowhere near as dark as some may say, it was also contained the moment I went from being a viewer to being a fully fledged fan- the Deadly Assassin.

Re: Rate the Hinchcliffe era
I'd give it a 4. Some brilliant brilliant stories, but one big huge problem. Wrong Doctor.
Re: Rate the Hinchcliffe era
I gave it a 5/5. The only thing wrong with it is Planet of Evil.
