just finished watching this- a good DVD with nice extras. a mixture- some good ideas but varied acting and direction. the "outlers" are all pretty awful- matthew waterhouse is, amazingly, not the worst. george baker is, as always, pretty good. the direction is good in places- expecially on location. the marshmen are clearly geezers in rubber suits and the spiders are pants.

Well-filmed men in suits. The young 'uns are rubbish, but the old 'uns are good. I think this is actually one of Tom's best (later) performances - genuine outrage, sadness and a touch of gentleness. I think the ending's neat.
