Historic Convention Photos

I came across this t'other day, and thought it may be of some interest. Amongst the offerings, there are several photos from what I believe are the first 2 DWAS Conventions ever in 1977 & 1978.

It is one of my greatest regrets that I'm the wrong age to have met Jon Pertwee, he is the only Who cast member I really want to as well. Though I'm not sure why I regret not being born earlier, that's one of the few things I can't be blamed for (Ah, still bitter. Was shown a few very vicious posts about me out there on the net by some imp).

I supposed I should get on with meeting at least one actor from the show, the only Who person I've ever met is RTD and he was a star.

Pertwee always appeared as "The Doctor".

I remember at Panopticon in '86 he was wearing a new outfit that had been specially made for him for an advert he was filming in, I think, New Zealand. He insisted on having it after the job & used it as his new costume!

I've recently scanned some stuff the 80's that I came across, and thought folk might find them of interest. The first photo shows Pertwee wearing the garb I was talking about 18 months ago!

They're singing "Happy Birthday" to camera Danny. It was for the video release celebrating 10 years of DWAS.

I'd think it's quite likely the only time John Levene, Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, Jon Pertwee & Michael E Briant were photographed together.
