Rumours abound - new episodes found?

Bleeding Cool has been reporting rumours about a massive find of Doctor Who episodes.  Allegedly, 90 of the missing episodes may have been found and this may result in us having the complete run of Hartnell.

Bleeding Cool has been careful to report this as rumour, and the BBC has neither confirmed nor denied whether such a find has been made.

Thoughts?

I think it'll turn out that they've found 90 old black and white episodes, but in the same way that I discovered The Time Meddler yesterday evening on Virgin Media, they'll be ninety episodes that already exist in the archives.

I would love to believe we had more than that, Nick. Levine seems converted, for whatever that's worth, but common sense suggests it's all just wishful thinking.

I've read the same articles. If it happens, and that would certainly be fantastic, it happens. I'm not getting my hopes up.

I've become jaded enough in my old age that I'll believe it when I see it.

The guy who supposedly has them has issued a statement saying that he hasn't got anything. Although going from what I've been told about this guy it could mean nothing. We shall see anyway but I'm not holding my breath.

I still believe there may be something in all this.

I don't think anything will be officially announced before September.

I've read the latest rumours and they sound bollocks. Apparently the sticking point is that the BBC want to release them all in one go without restoration, and the owner of the tapes is insisting that they are properly restored (as well as unsuccessfully trying to get Moffat sacked). I find it hard to believe that they spend 15 years restoring and releasing what they've got, but won't do the same if any others turn up.
