The Time Of The Doctor - Pre-transmission Discussion
December 25th is now less than 20 days away. Which means, the end of Eleven is nearing.
This will be our thread to discuss rumors, production pics, plot & story developments, etc. Please remember to put anything of a spoilery nature within spoiler-wraps in your posts, so that those who want to remain blissfully uniniformed about the story before it airs can be.

Re: The Time Of The Doctor - Pre-transmission Discussion
I'll kick this thread off with an item I've been contemplating since watching "The Day Of The Doctor."
"The Doctor has a secret he will take to the grave. It is discovered."
This referred not to the secret, but to the location of the grave.
"No More" or "Gallifrey Falls" as the title of the painting.
Both, it turns out, are correct: "Gallifrey Falls No More."
Steven Moffat is quite adept at giving us a phrase that can ultimately be interpreted a couple of ways, but misdirecting us to think of the incorrect interpretation before he pulls the rug out from under us. Which brings me to:
"Silence Will Fall."
Is it possible that the interpretation we are not to spend any time contemplating is that the Silence are actually defeated?
Just a thought, offered up for conversation.

Re: The Time Of The Doctor - Pre-transmission Discussion
So you think the Silence stirred up the trouble between Time Lords and Daleks because they thought the Time Lords were a threat? That the whole plot against The Doctor was to stop him remembering what really happened to Gallifrey, and then him bring it, and the threat, to the Silence, of the Time Lords? It is certainly an interisting idea.
Re: The Time Of The Doctor - Pre-transmission Discussion
Nothing quite so elaborate, Cat. Dorium told the Doctor all about what's expected to occur at Trenzalore. That a question will be asked, and that the Silence are determined not to ever let that question be answered. We already know all this- in fact, the only thing we don't know about the Silence is how they can possibly know the answer to the question is so dangerous. I'm simply suggesting that the Doctor figures out a way to defeat the Silence, and the effort costs him a regeneration.

Well, it's all far too complicated for me to understand! I may just have to enjoy the pretty-coloured moving images and let the plot wash over me...

Re: The Time Of The Doctor - Pre-transmission Discussion
Four years ago, I correctly guessed that David Tennant's final words as the Doctor would be "I don't want to go."
I'm going to go on record as predicting Matt Smith's final words as the Doctor will be a line he delivers to Clara: some variation of "See you soon" or "Be right back."
