Re: Survivors (new and old)
Watched tonight's episode, as I was at home on a Tuesday evening for once.
Meh. It was entertaining enough, but nothing to hook me into coming back every week. Paterson Joseph and Max Beesley were good, though - I cared about their storyline a lot more than "Julie Graham from ITV" and the oh-so-predictable proto-fascists.

Re: Survivors (new and old)
Well, everything is coming together nicely in this series.
- Looks like the mad scientists will be after Abby with a vengeance. I wonder if them nabbig her will be used as an excuse to write the character out, as in the original series?
- Having said that, if the Mad Scientists are defeated in the finale, what is the betting that having made the beast with two backs with his lordship, perhaps she is pregant. Lets face it, the amount of sex there has been in the past few episodes, I would not be at all surprised if there are not a couple of babies on the way in Series Two.
- If there is a second series, I expect to see a lot more of his lordship, after all, this is supposed to be based on the 1976 novel, and his lordship was a far more important character in that than he as been so far in either television incarnations of Survivors.
- Looks like the Fascists with Friendly Faces are finally going to do something that the main group didn't get around to, ie deal with that nutter with the shotgun.

Wow. What a brilliant ending. Roll on series 2 I hope?

Re: Survivors (new and old)
Excellent ending, and series 2 has already been confirmed. Interestingly...
- Spoiler:
- Paterson Joseph wasn't mentioned in the S2 press release...
Re: Survivors (new and old)
They're amking a big will he survive/won't he survive thing out of it then. That or he's just got a deal for a certain flagship BBC show.

Maybe they put the will he/won't he survive bit in to give PJ time to decide whether he wants to do Doctor Who or not.

Oh, there was never any shred of doubt for me that he was going to survive. I mean, he was only shot in the shoulder if you look closely - and it was the shoulder on the opposite side from his heart at that.The_Void wrote:Maybe they put the will he/won't he survive bit in to give PJ time to decide whether he wants to do Doctor Who or not.

A blow to the shoulder is a death sentence in late '70s Doctor Who.
