Series 3 has reached its conclusion. The Last of the Time Lords sees Martha walking the Earth for a year, spreading the message of the Doctor. The Doctor is aged to Gollum status. Jack and Martha's family are prisoners of the Master, and the our villainous rival Time Lord is preparing Earth to become the new Gallifrey and go to war with the universe.
So, what did you think? How was the wrap up to Series 3 handled for you? Let's be hearing from you!

I highly enjoyed it- right up until the final 10 or so minutes. Praying to "The Doctor," and then the Return of the Jedi funeral pyre, both seemed a little hard to swallow.
4/5 for me.

Ah, the episode that provided me with the old smiling Ten avie. I gave it a 4/5 as well. I had no problems with any of the episode, it was mad and fun like most RTD finales are.

That was a great avatar, Zoltar. Especially once Konstantin "enhanced" the background roundrells.

A huge let down. As soon as we were told "one year later" I knew it was in trouble. And the whole Dobby thing still wee me off.

Imagine that you don't know who Dobby is, like myself, than watch it on it's own terms. The Master shrinking people, as usual, but this time keeping them alive in a cage to taunt - what's not to like?

Rich, on original transmission I groaned at the one year later cop out, and nothing has changed my opinion since. And I don't watch Doctor Who to see a re-enactment of Qui-Gon Jinn's cremation.

Or, indeed, Anakin Skywalker's.
You know, that "one year later" was a point made in the audio commentary by RTD. Apparently, the timing of the airing of this episode coincided with the airing of the season finale of Battlestar Gallactica in 2007, and they also sprung a "one year later" plot device on unsuspecting viewers. The difference is that they spent an awful lot of time in the following season going back and showing us what happened during that missing year- we only got to see Martha arriving back by boat, and if you want to learn what she did during that year, you have go get some audio-book adventures.

Yeah, but burning a body on a pyre didn't originate from the mind of George Lucas. He doesn't own the visual.
As for the One Year Later, can't say I minded it myself. But I can understand why others might not have warmed to it.
