It needs to be about 5 series' longer but WOW! I never believed that rumor, too good to be true.
Still can't quite believe what I've just seen.
5, because I'm stunned.

Watched on my netbook, in my hotel room. I hope nobody was in the room next door becaut I did exclaim "4_0$2-7 6=££" rather loudly when I heard McGann's voice.
- Spoiler:
- We had his introduction now his denouement, now BBC Cymru/Wales can we please have all the bits in between.

Still on a happy Who high. Paul McGann! I hoped in my wee heart of hearts that it was possible. I am happy for him. You know he has no idea how much fans like him. I met him at a convention in 2010 and he had no idea that after the 1996 TV movie that American fans launched a campaign to FOX to get a series for him.

I do believe this increases McGann's total on-screen time as the Doctor by about 20%.
5/5 from me.

4/5. It was too short however it was good and a nice tribute to the 8th Doctor. However it should have been the opening to 'Day of the Doctor' not buried away on iplayer.

Emperor, the Time War awaits us as the opening to "The Day of the Doctor".

Re: Rate "The Night Of The Doctor"
I'm a bit puzzled as to why the 8th Doctor regenerated into a 'young' John Hurt when he's much older in the Name of the Doctor. Will they show him in the Time War or just much later?

I presume the War Doctor lasts a long time and ages similarly. It makes the Doctor's outrageous fibs about his age look even more outrageous!sparacus wrote:I'm a bit puzzled as to why the 8th Doctor regenerated into a 'young' John Hurt when he's much older in the Name of the Doctor. Will they show him in the Time War or just much later?

1) He only counts the years he was 'the Doctor' and not the ones as 'the War Doctor'
2) Time gets completely messed up in the war, so any age is merely a best guess.
3) Nine refers to 'nine hundred years of phone box travel' so maybe the War Doctor changes the look of the TARDIS?
Speculation: From Hurt's 'I'm looking for the Doctor' line in the trailer, one of the key storylines in TDOTD is going to be the War Doctor learning how to be the Doctor again, which then allows him to regenerate into Eccleston at the end.

Oh, and wild TNOTD speculation: Ohila is actually Compassion from the EDAs
