My only complaint is why can't Gatiss write this well in his scripts for the series itself?

After this in the UK they showed the first four episodes back to back. My thoughts...TV in general has dumbed down since this went out. (Not Doctor Who if course). This was far more dialogue driven than things today. Put this out for the kids of today and no one would watch it. Shame!!

I'm really looking forward to this tonight. BBC-America's promotional spots look excellent.

Poignant, witty, loaded with references long time fans would get, and brilliantly presented. As Sidney would say, "Pop, pop, pop!"

BBC-America reshowed this last night. I have to say, it isn't just Gatiss' script that's marvellous here. The whole production was clearly done by folks who are very much fans of the show. The Year-o-meter on the TARDIS console. The engine noises that manifest the first time we see the TARDIS interior. Even the white-out dissolve they used when David Bradley stands at the TARDIS console, about to deliver his last lines in Tenth Planet before they flash-back to 1963 is reminiscent of the same sort of flash/white-out they used the first time the TARDIS dematerialized in An Unearthly Child.

I truly love this little gem.

Nonsense. If they tried to put that caveman crap on these days they'd be crucified, and rightly so!

The point being, they wouldn't. Or if they did, it would be much more like the "Walking with..." stuff that happened a few years back. Which might be cool.

From memory, this drama-doc has been in his head for ten-fifteen years. That's a long time to iron out any imperfections.
