I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue
A thread for the best thing ever to hit the radio. This was pure genius. I've heard rumors that they're making a new series with a new chairman, is this true?

They're doing a new series in 2009. My guess is, for a while at least, they'll go down the "Guest Chairman" route.

Very good to hear. I've heard Steven Fry's name mentioned. I wouldn't be suprised if Barry Cryer took over as chairman and they then had 2 guest pannelists every week.

Barry Cryer was on the radio the other week singing the praises of Rob Brydon, who had done a couple of practise runs...

Rob Brydon hosted the final tour date, when Humph had been taken ill. Ginger Ninja and I had the fortune to see the tour in London just weeks before the great man passed away. He was awesome, and however much they try, it can never be the same again.

Re: I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue
Radio 4 did a tribute to Chairman Humph and the best bit of it was interesting.
On VE day, with parties going on all over London, there is a BBC reporter overlooking the crowd outside Buckingham Palace. You can hear cheering in the background, and as this terribly serious BBC voice talks about the scene, someone starts playing "Roll Out the Barrel" on a trumpet.
The crowd starts singing. Before long, the BBC chap has noticed and makes his final comments, and the broadcast ends on the sound of the trumpet and the voices of ordinary Londoners celebrating.
The trumpeter is, of course, Humph.
