Re: Music Library [PART 2]
Thanks for the update Stan. Great stuff. I well remember watching this brilliant performance on transmission 30 years ago.
The Jam - A Bomb in Wardour Street.
Simply one of the 'tightest' and best bands ever.

Now that it looks like we've turned a corner and are indeed heading into Spring, it's time to dust off some of my favorite tunes to have playing when I go for a drive.

Indeed. I wish they'd stop calling for the snow. If we stayed quiet, it might ignore us.konstantin wrote:yup, spring... they're calling for up to a foot of snow here by morning. (probably only 3 inches or so right here...)

Elvis Presley - Blue Moon
Is this the first Elvis song? I think Elvis recorded some of the world's best music surrounded by some of its worst. I like this because it sounds like it was recorded at the back of an aircraft hanger by a ghost.
What's your opinion of Elvis? *points*

Oh, if only! I don't know enough music from enough countries to do that sadly, but I wish I did!

No, he's dead after a 66,000 volt shock barnaby - it may just be the wrong link methinks!
Moving swiftly on, here's what may be considered a bizarre choice, but it has very special significance to Mrs C=O and myself. Having signed the register at St. Peter-in-Eastgate getting on for 20 years ago, we walked down the aisle as man and wife for the first time to this totally brilliant composition.
Carl Davis - Champions.
Don't bother with the video, just indulge yourself in the grand piano and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

John Cooper Clarke - I Married A Monster From Outer Space
Probably my favourite lyrics ever - certainly the only ones I can quote the whole way through that aren't "I'm met him at a party and my heart stood still da do ron ron ron ron da do ron ron"

Teddy Magnus - Beautiful Sunday
I'm looking forward to the summer when I'm be playing this on my ghettoblaster in a park with a Carling in one hand, and next Carling lined-up in the other, chatting with my friends about the poor quality of music since we turned 20. Rock and Roll.

I wonder how many of these songs have been shot down by the youtube music police. Never mind, eh. It's far more important that the international music companies survive than I enjoy my Monday morning...
