Re: Moses Jones
Haven't seen it but intend to... got a half day tomorrow so I think an afternoon with Matt Smith and Co would be a pleasant way to kill some time

Re: Moses Jones
Matt Smith ain't exactly dazzling in the first episode, but only because his character isn't given a lot to do beyond playing the role of the 'inexperienced foolish white boy' in a show where most of the characters are black. Or as Moses puts it, the "naive Famous Five idiot savant."
This episode was mostly about establishing backgrounds and relationships anyway - perhaps next week Smithy-boy will get a chance to save the day with his truncheon.

I really hope that isn't a euphemism...perhaps next week Smithy-boy will get a chance to save the day with his truncheon.

Re: Moses Jones
If I hadn't known MS was going to be 11 I don't think I'd even have noticed him.
I thought this was nicely paced, atmospheric, and interesting - although some of the 'politics' felt a bit 80's Stand Up, with all the 'your people'/'I'm a Londoner' moments. Still it's the first episode and getting everything set up. I'll give it another go next week.

Re: Moses Jones
I realised that this and Whitechapel share a plot point - both feature a DI being assigned from Scotland Yard to a local station to lead an investigation. I suspect this was a lot closer to the reality, though.
And did any other Ideal fans think 'hey, PC's got a promotion!' when Tom Goodman-Hill appeared as his boss?

Me neither, to be honest. But hasn't he got a lovely fringe?lucy_who wrote:If I hadn't known MS was going to be 11 I don't think I'd even have noticed him.
