Karl Malden has died at the age of 97 - that's a great innings which included an Oscar for A Streetcar Named Desire no less than 58 years ago.

One thing for sure. They'll be mourning on the Streets of San Francisco tonight. RIP Karl.

He was a great actor, he'll definitely be missed. RIP, Karl.

When streets of San Francisco originally ran in the early '70s, I was a tyke, and it ran past my bedtime. Consequently, I knew him from his American Express "Don't Leave Home Without It" commercials, and from his performance as General Bradley in Patton.

A great character actor who led a full life. Rest in peace, Karl.
