23rd November?

When The Doctor first mentions 21st November, my heart sank. If they were going to set a story at the end of November, why didn't they set it on 23rd November, 2063? I mean, with a flash back to Journey's End, references to The Fires of Pompeii and numerous mentions to the Ice Warriors, its not as if the story wasn't already drowning in a flood of fanwank. One more little detail would not really have made that much difference.

Um, because...
- 21 November this year is a Saturday (and was probably a scheduling option earlier on) vs. a Monday,
- 2063 would make the character Adelaide that much older (fine for the character, but dunno about the actress); and
- folks tend to like nice round numbers with zeroes, not "54" years later?

None are insurmountable, but all show the idea could be clumsy. IMO.

Not that I'm consciously trying to take this thread in a new direction, but I wanted to check on something I heard RTD make in an off-hand comment.

2013 will be Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary. And according to the calendar, November 23rd is a Saturday.
