Series 6 dips to a new low with The Almost People. The Wrinkly Index for the combined story is 67, a couple of points above the average of the 2 parts.

If you extrapolate those figures so the average reflects the same 1 to 5 scale that we voted on originally you get:

Only if your cup is half-empty, I'd say a series where all the stories get rated as either rated as average or above is an above-average series.

It's median average and it's modal average is 3, which is average.

50% of it above average though. It'll be interesting to see what we get for AGMGTW.

Surely, even using your figures its median is 3.5 which is above average.

Anyway, a fairer* way of averaging back to a 1-5 score is to add up all the average scores, divide by six to get a series average so far and then divide by 20 to get back to an 'out of 5' score. This gives us a wrinkly average for the first six episodes of 3.74. Which is above average.**

The average Wrinkly Appreciation Index for the first 6 episodes of Series 5 was 77. For for first 6 episodes of Series 6 it is 75.

Yes, but do it out of ten rather than five.

I think we would need to keep to the existing format Rich.

But it's not a very effective - generally people will rate something with a 3, a 4 or a 5. I've got all 3s for this year (except for one 5) and yet I like some of those 3s much more than the others. On a 10 point scale I could throw out a 5, a 6 or a 7.

I'll be guided by the consensus then. Any other thoughts folks?

Keep it as it is. In my head a mark out of five means something (Respectively: great, good, average, poor, Timelash).

I agree with Stanmore. And this includes the Timelash rating.

So with the four votes in so far, we should be marking the stories out of 30 (mean average) or 5 (mode average) or 7.5 (median average) or 5 again (Rich's interpretation of median average).
