The helmet strikes me as nicely World-War II retro. I rather like it.

Yes, the entire outfit has a very nice "Retro-Futuristic" feel to it. Now, I'm just waiting to see what his present day version of the costume will look like. Since the one in the pic is the Second World War version.

Great stuff! Roll on the actual release dates. (Especially Cap, since some of it was filmed right here in my old home town).

That trailer was 30 seconds of awesome. Finally we get a quick glimpse of the Red Skull - plus I was absolutely thrilled with surprise to see Cap leading the Howling Commandos themselves into battle. The release of this movie just can't arrive soon enough.

The presence of the Commandos (especially Dugan) is a real selling point for me as well.

Absolutely. It's a lovely little touch that the general public won't especially be aware of but us fans really appreciate.

It's actually given me my first genuine belief that this "shared" movie universe has a real history.

One wonders if they'll attempt a surprise Wolverine cameo. I know Howard Stark is supposed to be in the movie too, so there's that connection as well.

That would be fun, but probably unlikely. Now, if Marvel were able to re-secure the rights to its characters currently held by other studios...

I'm thinking one similar to the one they did in the Avengers cartoon. It would basically be Hugh Jackman in period fatigues, literally just a walk-on for fun's sake. But perhaps the rights issues would prevent even that, who knows.

That would be great. But considering the very brief moment in one of the Fantastic Four movies where Reed Morphs his face into Woverine's had to be cut pretty much rules it out I think.

I didn't either until very recently. I haven't checked, but it wouldn't surprise me if it isn't lurking around somewhere on You Tube or the like.

Yep, seems this is genuine. Here's the description of it from Wiki:

Two versions of a scene with Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd. The original features the pair in the planetarium, where they communicate their feelings for each other without an argumentative tone. This ends in a kiss. The second version, included in the DVD release as a bonus feature, features the two outside, looking toward the Statue Of Liberty. Similar lines are used, but it ends with Alba's Susan turning invisible before Gruffudd's Reed can kiss her. A joke was used during the line "a stronger man": Instead of Reed giving himself a square jaw (as he does in the theatrical release), he makes his skin look like X-Men's Wolverine. Actor Gruffudd breaks the fourth wall and looks directly at the camera as he does this.

And the best thing is even under all those prosthetics, it's still unmistakably Weaving. He has such a distinctive face that no amount of make-up can ever quite disguise it. Smile
