Rate The Gunfighters

I think this is a story that comes in for way too much flak. OK, so the accents are appalling and the song is intrusive, but it's immensely good fun, and the regulars all (yes, even Jackie Lane) give good performances - Hartnell in particular putting his all into it. And it might be very silly, but I'll take "entertaining but silly" over "worthy but dull" any day of the week.

Kudos to the production team for trying something different. 4/5.

5/5 - those who slagit off haven't seen it and believed Doctor Who Weekly too much! Even the song is great.

A brilliant little story with some fantastic characters. The song does annoy me a bit though.

I admit that this story does get punished by fans just by it's reputation, but I also know that Steven and Dodo's outfits are ridiculous, and that I never want to hear anoth song like ballad in Doctor Who again...

...Besides that, it is a decent story, and also is the only filmed movie or TV show that gets the size of the O.K. Corral almost right, as well as Tombstone, because I visited there as a child and they both are very small still to this day, and the size of the corral makes you wonder how anyone survived the gunfight at all.

It might be of some interest to know that Tombstone, Arizona is, as TomSpy said, quite a tourist destination.

As has already been said, grossly under rated. I think its reputation may originally have been down to a critique that Jeremy Bentham penned long, long ago.

I can't remember this one at all. I pride myself on having been a viewer from the beginning, but my memory of the Hartnell episodes is hazy. (Troughton is the Doctor I remember clearly: I was scared of Hartnell, as a child.)

Must get hold of this one, now.
