This is so difficult. I'm sure the following list isn't really my definitive favourite 20 albums. Although I'm also sure that some of them would be in the real list. I just love music too much, also, I listen to it practically all day most days so there is a hell of a lot to chose from......This isn't in any particular order although number 1 probably is number 1.

1. Doctor who series 3 soundtrack
2. Doctor Who series 4 soundtrack
3. Behaviour - Pet Shop Boys
4. Introspective - Pet Shop Boys
5. Four Calander Cafe - Cocteau Twins
6. Treasure - Cocteau Twins
7. Dream of the Blue Turtles - Sting
8. Mercury Falling - Sting
9. The Nightfly - Donald Fagen
10. Original Musiquarium Vol ! - Stevie Wonder
11. Disintegration - The Cure
12. The broadway album - Barbra Streisand
13. One Voice - Barbra
14. Les Miserables - Original London cast recording
15. The Bairns - Rachel Unthank and the Winterset
16. Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue/American in Paris/Piano Concerto in F (its as cheapo Naxos CD, don't know who the orchestra were)
17. The art of the recorder - Academy of St Martin in the fields + Michala Petrie
18. Requiem for a Tower - Corner Stone Cues
19. Pirates 3 soundtrack - Hans Zimmer
20. At First Light - Silje Nergaard

Re: Your Top 20 Albums!

Post by Starfighter Pilot on Tue Jan 20, 2009 4:02 am

Going between my gut feeling and iPod song ratings, it's something like:

  1. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
  2. The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
  3. The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
  4. Of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
  5. Beirut - Gulag Orkestar
  6. The Olivia Tremor Control - Black Foliage: Animation Music Volume One
  7. Paul Simon - Graceland
  8. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
  9. Whipping Boy - Heartworm
  10. Beirut - The Flying Club Cup
  11. The Olivia Tremor Control - Music from the Unrealized Film Script, Dusk at Cubist Castle
  12. The Mission - Children
  13. Of Montreal - Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies: A Variety of Whimsical Verse
  14. The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
  15. Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium
  16. Embrace - The Good Will Out
  17. Suede - Coming Up
  18. Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die
  19. Muse - Absolution
  20. Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water

That was very very difficult. On another hour, this list would include albums by All About Eve, Antony & the Johnsons, the Cardigans, Chumbawamba, the Cranberries, Eurythmics, Feeder, Idlewild, Mansun, Morrissey, Mr Fox, Joanna Newsom, Pentangle, the Rasmus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Serart, Sigur Ros, Snow Patrol, Steeleye Span, Stereophonics and the Verve at the very least, not to mention more from Neutral Milk Hotel, Smashing Pumpkins and the Smiths. Very hard indeed!
