Rate/Re-rate "The Web of Fear"
With the return of the missing episodes, and subsequent download on itunes, plus impending DVD release, there can't be a better time to re-evaluate this mid-era Troughton story. Have your say!

Re: Rate/Re-rate "The Web of Fear"
I finished watching The Web of Fear last night. I am so thrilled that the memory definitely doesn't cheat. Beyond excellent, this is a simply magnificent piece of television, let alone Doctor Who. Acting, set design, script, direction all at their very peak.
The battle in Covent Garden is devastating. Brilliantly & chillingly filmed by Camfield, it is the previously missing, link from The War Machines to The Invasion. But it is by far and away the best of the three. Even John Levene gives his finest Who performance. Earlier in the same episode the way Camfield frames the camera while The Doctor, foreground, explains what the Great Intelligence is with Knight and Lethbridge Stewart either side behind, is simple yet brilliant.
Was also taken with the ongoing clever continuity - even down to The Doctor trying to switch things and drain the Intelligence: a throwback to giving The Daleks the Human Factor in Evil.
Overall, the easiest 5/5 ever.
