Rate "Planet Of Evil"

Leaving Harry Sullivan (IS AN IDIOT!) behind, the Doctor and Sarah Jane go a' wanderin' and find themselves on Zeta Minor, at the very edge of the known universe. Here, the laws of physics are just a bit permeable, as a scientist named Sorenson on a reseach mission are discovering. A rescue ship has come for them, and everyone seems to plagued by a strange anti-matter creature. The situation only gets worse when Sorenson attempts to take samples of the anti-matter off the planet via the rescue ship. Sorenson starts mutating into a Jeckyll & Hyde type anti-matter man, and the Doctor not only has to stop him, not only has to get the samples of the anti-matter back to the planet, he also has to restore the balance between the matter and anti-matter universes. And if he fails, death may be coming for everyone.

16 year old me watched this and, immediately, thought "Forbidden Planet". The first concrete sign of Bob Holmes' nicking of ideas is a good, but not great, story sandwiched between two classics. Almost impossible to realise on the budget, unlike the great 1956 movie. Sort of 3.5/5, but because I feel generous will round it up to 4.
