Re: 24: Day Seven
Anyone else annoyed that SKY One in their wisdom are not showing this in real time.
Re: 24: Day Seven
When has 24 ever been shown in real time? I mean, in the US the ads are factored into the countdown clock. An episode of 24 is actually only about 42 mins long. So essentially, you've always been ripped off on this count.

Re: 24: Day Seven
And SKY normally show enough adverts and promos to make the episode last a whole hour. There were a number of definite jumps tonight, and that sort of defeats the whole purpose of the episode. I do something else whilst the ads are on during "24" but I always try and watch an episode so that it fills the whole 60 minutes. That is half the fun.Kate Seadevil wrote:When has 24 ever been shown in real time? I mean, in the US the ads are factored into the countdown clock. Re: 24: Day Seven
Couldn't give a fig about real time or otherwise. Jack's back - and he's not alone, as the shock revelation of the identity of one of the baddies left Bauer breathless and me going "what? What? WHAT???"
Also interesting to note that in this ever nearing post Bush world, Jack's methods are being called into serious question. Silly people - they should realise by now that having a borderline psychopath super patriot as your prime secret agent is always going to get a touch messy.
Great stuff!

Re: 24: Day Seven
We had hours 1 and 2 shown in an edited together format just last night, Patrick old chap. Sky television's now traditional way of premièring a new series of Happy Jack's 24 Hour Torture Party... Er, I mean a new series of 24Patrick wrote:Where are you in the new season, Sid? How many episodes have you seen?

Re: 24: Day Seven
Ah, well, we had episodes hours 1 and 2 shown Sunday evening. Last night, after watching a 'new' episode of Top Gear, we got hours 3 and 4.
And I think 3 and 4 were far better than 1 and 2.

Re: 24: Day Seven
And that's where we're going to start lagging at least a week behind you now. From "Hour 3", (next week) we're down to a single episode a week.Patrick wrote:Ah, well, we hadepisodeshours 1 and 2 shown Sunday evening. Last night, after watching a 'new' episode of Top Gear, we got hours 3 and 4.

Although I may find myself forced to resort to "other means", to bring myself up to being practically in step with you. I haven't decided yet.

Indeed he did. CTU is no more.
Just caught up with hours 1 & 2 on Sky Anytime - no adverts and no hideous DOG - and in HD. I think the rest has done the series good. I really enjoyed it. Utterly ludicrous and the husband and I just chortled our way through it. Janis is the new Chloe and Tony's gone bad. Terrible CGI planes. And who didn't see the Motobo twist coming. And wasn't Sean Callery's music simply ace!

Don't count your CTU epitaphs before they've hatched.

Oh, Patrick you tease. Like Sid, I might just have to acquire the latest episodes by certain means....
Re: 24: Day Seven
Okay, I promise I'll stop with the teases. From now on, I'll post my thoughts on new episodes in spoiler wraps.

Re: 24: Day Seven
For the hour between Noon and 1:00 PM...
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM next...
- Spoiler:
- Jack gets to answer two rather interesting questions:
1) How do you get into a concrete lined safe room in under 10 minutes?
2) What do you do with a pesky FBI agent who blames you for breaking out custody a former CTU agent, once you've taken her prisoner.
You know, Jack could be forgiven for killing that FBI agent. After all, she's now under investigation for torturing a patient in Hospital to figure out what Almeda's plans are, and this has put her under investigation by the Attorney General's Office.
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM next...

Re: 24: Day Seven
I really do not understand President Taylor's dilemma.
- Spoiler:
- Colonel Dubaku's actions are blatant acts of war by the Government of Sangala against the United States of America, and the USA would be perfectly justified in going in and blowing General Juma and his nasty little regime to Kingdom Come.

- Spoiler:
- The problem is that Col. Dubaku has a weapon that can bring planes down out of the sky, and he's already shown he's willing to use it. That's his insurance against the US striking Sangala. What President Taylor doesn't know is that there are those within her own administration that are banking she will back down. Her own husband has already discovered this, and he's just been poisoned by his own Secret Service agent to keep him from talking.

So, now that Dubacku has been neutralised, its now time to see who the real villain of the peice is.
