More Than Meets The Eye: Transformers 2 (and now 3)
This is actually news that's a couple of weeks old. At the Chicago Auto Show in January, a number of new vehicles which will be featured in Transformers 2 were revealed. Here's a report on "Sideswipe", a Corvette Stingray concept designed specifically for the movie. It's apparently not going to produced for market.
That split rear window is an idea borrowed from the 1963 Corvette coupe design.
Well, you all know my fondness for Corvettes. Suddenly, I'm quite interested in seeing this movie.

That is a very attractive piece of automotive engineering. However, I am not that keen on the colour, all it needs is a red light going from side to side and it could easily be a prototype Cylon heavy raider.

Nice looking ride. I agree about the color though, I'd prefer black.

It's only a toy?! How do they expect us to drive it?Lucy McGough wrote:Boys and their toys...

Use the Master's device to shrink yourself down to toy-Zoltar size.

Can't we enlarge the car instead? I'm having visions of being pursued by a giant spider on blue screen or something similar.Lucy McGough wrote:Use the Master's device to shrink yourself down to toy-Zoltar size.

Lucy McGough wrote:Boys and their toys...
The thing about boys
Is they like their toys
Oh, yes, it's true,
Ms. Lucy McGough
They like the lights, they like the noise
They like the spinny, light-up things in their toys
They like the ones that go pop, bang, flash, boom
And they like the ones that go vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom
Boys are intrigued by these flashy things
Because to boys, it's like a music that sings
It draws them to see, to hear, to touch
Suffice it to say, toys effect boys that much
Do not despair, Lucy, my dear
For your understanding of boys is really quite near
We boys are really quite simple to please
Gadgets with lights and noise will always appease
So do not make fun when see a boy with his toy
These flashing loud objects fill us with joy
It's harmless, it's fun, and yes, childish it may be
But that's just in the nature of boys, you see.

Cars. They have wheels. It's their only use...well, apart from if you're rich enough to be able to afford to use one as a draught excluder, of course.

So Transformers 2 has been out for a week now. Has anyone seen it yet?
For the benefit of those that have not, we should probably conduct discussions about the story line in spoiler tags.

A last minute cast addition to Transformers 3 has recently been announced. Providing voice for the character of Sentinel Prime will be Leonard Nimoy.
