The Apprentice
Series 5 starts in less than 30 minutes. It's one of those very rare things for me - must watch TV. Same goes for Mrs C=O and Ginger Ninja. Hoepfully we're not the only ones with an interest and over the next 12 weeks the Wrinklies can vent their fury about who gets fired right here!

Re: The Apprentice
Just waiting for it to start, and ready to boo and hiss at the candidates as required.
Re: The Apprentice
count me in- they all look like complete tools so far(par for the course in week one)
he could have fired anita or debra- and i thought mona looked like she was about to burst into tears the whole way through.
don't think the guy who was team leader(howard?) will last long either- he has dead mans eyes.

Dig the John Terry lookalike!
IMO, Anita was the right one to go - for the past 12 months keeping costs under control has been the key to a business surviving. So she had to take the rap.

Re: The Apprentice
I can't stand The Apprentice (the general synopsis of the show is horrible people doing pointless things for a complete tit) but I will be watching every week because my girlfriend is a follower. Expect comments despairing about the current state of humanity every Thursday morning...

Re: The Apprentice
For the second week running, failure to control costs dooms one of the teams from the outset.
I'd have fired James, whose attitude, manner and body language were quite atrocious. He really is arrogant and obnoxious. Which probably means he'll be kept in, for entertainment value at least, for a while yet.

Re: The Apprentice
I really don't know why I enjoy The Apprentice, but I do. I honestly don't think that Rocky was taking it seriously. He already has a successful business up North and he was clearly using the show to get a bit of cheap publicity for that business, which is why I suspect Sir Alan really sacked him. James is a bucket of arse-biscuits and is annoying me enormously, but as C=O said, he will probably be kept in for another few weeks for entertainment value alone.

Re: The Apprentice
I think it was Ben and Maj's fault - they took what might have been a good idea and stuck so much crap on it, no one would buy it. Plus, James has the approval of Margaret, so he's safe for a while.
Debra scares me - and what was that shot of her and Yasmina holding hands watching Katherine Jenkins about?

Re: The Apprentice
Having finally caught up with week 3, I see you 2 guys have already said most of what I would have!
Right decision again by SrAlan: Debra's a bitch, James is hilarious, Philip is a gentleman - and looking out for developments on the hand holding front.

Re: The Apprentice
Oh wow, Nick has just interrupted in the middle of a task - this is like God actually appearing in a church, isn't it?
One thought I did have is that I think they seem to be showing a lot more of the boardroom than they did in the first couple of series. I noticed last week that they were done with the task and in the boardroom about half way through the episode.

Re: The Apprentice
I completely forgot to ask during the chatroom extravaganza yesterday, but is it just me or is the Apprentice using some of Murray Gold's incidental music from Dr Who? If they are, it's probably a pay back for Dr Who using some of the Apprentice's filmed footage of Canary Wharf in Army of Ghosts!

Re: The Apprentice
I thought that I recognised some of Murray Gold's Doctor Who links a couple of weeks ago. Ever since I have been scanning the credits, but have yet to see Mr. G's name mentioned.Lee Carey wrote:I completely forgot to ask during the chatroom extravaganza yesterday, but is it just me or is the Apprentice using some of Murray Gold's incidental music from Dr Who?
