Re: The Apprentice
Finally caught up with week 4 tonight. There were some seriously cretinous performances there. Can't believe SrAlan's decision. How Ben didn't get fired is beyond me........

Re: The Apprentice
Paula didn't play it right, plus he seems to have a soft spot for mouthy young people. Hopefully he doesn't make the same mistake this year as he did with Michael last year.
Although they were incredibly stupid not to have checked how much the essential oils were that they were purchasing, as it's the at least the second time where they've lost because they spent too much. It's interesting because if you go into Lush now they've put signs up on all of the products that Sandlewood is in and there are about a handful, ok maximum of 15 products(although I think I'm being over generous) and if you look at the prices, it looks like those products to an extent are loss leaders and the money is made up of other products. If they aren't loss leaders the amount of sandlewood is so miniscule it isn't worth mentioning.

Re: The Apprentice
I thought it was so obvious that Treasure Flakes would win that I was looking to see if I'd missed some really obvious way in which they'd turn out to lose...but it really was as clear-cut as it seemed.
Pantsman was funny, but probably not in the way they intended - and I'm not sure the message 'eat out cereal so you're not like a superhero' is the way to go.
My guess for the last five - Kate, Debra, Yasmina, James and Howard.

Re: The Apprentice
I have just watched my recording of The Apprentice and it was obvious that Treasure Flakes was going to win. It was simply the better idea. OK, the tv add they produced was, to coin a phrase, a bit pants, at least they thought through the idea, and designing the whole box and not just the front seemed so obvious, I just knew that team was on to a winner. Unfortunately, it means that James lives on for another week.
Re: The Apprentice
I think James is in with a chance of winning.

Re: The Apprentice
I think Suralun has a weakness for women with dyed blonde hair (see Michelle from a couple of series back) and that Sara is in with a chance, especially if she has the same sort of sad back story as the aforementioned Michelle.
Other than that, this years intake strike me as a bit more... useless than usual.

Re: The Apprentice
Top quality episode with the right person fired. Lorraine certainly seems to know her stuff, she could go far.
Best line of the night, even if it's an old one, was SrAlan's village idiot dig at James.
Just great TV!

Re: The Apprentice
Nah. Best line of the night was James rounding on Ben back in the pent house. IMO, of course.
Re: The Apprentice
A bit of a cliffhanger for things to come perhaps? James' face when Ben nominated him before Debra was awesome, 10/10 .

Re: The Apprentice
His face was a picture (by Edvard Munch) but it was the way he blurted out "What?!?.... sorry" that made me giggle.
The best bit was that it made Ben look like an indecisive idiot.
Did the Ninja and the Herbivore watch with you? My little brother was told to watch it last week for English homework!!!

Ninja watched it last night with Mrs C=O when I was out. He thought Debra should have gone for speaking back to Nick. I think Urban Herbivore watched it in her room tonight but I haven't a clue what she thought. As she was out clubbing all last night, her brain probably isn't in gear right now!

Re: The Apprentice
I think the briefing for this weeks task was a bit off. I've only just watched it from the beginning so I missed the briefing. The briefing was to sell as much as possible not to not sell for a loss.

I must say, I love the chatroom sessions we have watching this... really good fun - mostly me hurling abuse at Ben because he's a slimy little weasel and Lee Carey being shocked that even know such words - so please join us if you can on Wednesdays at 9pm!

I'll be there for the next one, but unfortunately I'll be abandoning you for two weeks. They are great fun, and it's nice to see that some of the potential Apprentices irritate others as well.

Re: The Apprentice
I feared that James would get the boot this week, hoped it would be Debra, and was a bit surprised in teh end that it was Ben.
But then again I wasn't aware that he'd got a Scholarship from Sandhurst.
