Marvel Have Been Bought By Disney!

Marvel are worth 4Bnm apparently (so, still a bit less than Bruce Wayne), and the deal comprises shares and cash for shareholders - about $30 a share and 0.4 of a Disney share if you're a Marvel stockholder.

Assorted people have reacted, but my favourite comments come from the Twitter feed of Warren Ellis himself. Today he has left us with such gems as -

"I got a call from Joe Quesada. All I could hear was him rubbing himself with money and laughing."

Later, he said
"Hm. Have been instructed to make Bambi a member of the X-Men."

This was shortly followed by:

"I'm sure my new corporate overlords will enjoy the forthcoming graphic novel ASTONISHING X-MEN: DOE-EYED MEAT GEYSER."

Anyway, after having seen the trailer for Wolvi's anime... seriously, nothing can be worse than that, if Disney manages to top that, I may consider about not vomiting everytime I have to type their name.

I think a Deadpool live action TV show! Starring Ben Browder as Deadpool. Now!

Oh gods no! Just no. Please let me wake up and this all be a bad dream. I still haven't forgiven the Rat for what they did to The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. The thought of the Rat pouring all their Disney Saccharin over Marvel Comics is too horrible to contemplate.
