The Doctor Who Experience
A couple of weeks ago this Press Release was issued:
“BBC Worldwide will be announcing a major new venture involving the Doctor Who brand in the next few months. Ahead of this, we are consolidating our three current Doctor Who exhibitions in the UK. After very successful runs and hundreds of thousands of delighted visitors, the exhibitions in Newcastle and Land’s End will close on October 31st and December 31st 2010 respectively, whilst the flagship Cardiff attraction will close on March 27th, 2011. BBC Worldwide is delighted that its relationship with the home of the show will continue as we develop a new and larger Doctor Who attraction which we plan to open in Cardiff in 2012 at a new site. We have consulted with the City Council for the past 18 months regarding our plans and we are confident that the new attraction’s features, size and location will draw many more fans to the Welsh capital from across the UK. Further details regarding the new Cardiff attraction will be included in the upcoming announcement.”
Over the weekend, these leaflets were being handed out at the Doctor Live shows at Wembley.
And now the website has, this morning, gone live.
The full announcement about what it is can be expected at the very beginning of November. Suffice to say for now this is a big scale thing, which is going to find its permenant home as detailed in the original Press Release in due course.

Re: The Doctor Who Experience
The PR started spot on time then.
So it's London Olympia from February before a permanent transfer to Cardiff. BBC Worldwide are hoping it will run well beyond the anniversary, maybe for 4 years. Tickets prices likely to be in the £15/£16 region.

Re: The Doctor Who Experience
Several weeks ago I was told that the Doctor Who Experience would include:
1. A replica of the current TARDIS interior.
2. The actual Eccleston/Tennant interior, which has been kept in stock at Upper Boat for this purpose.
3. The genuine Five Doctors interior.
So that all seems to tie in.

Re: The Doctor Who Experience
Genuine Five Doctors interior? Does this include the console Davison's Doctor had just installed/was polishing at the start of the story?

If (like me) you haven't yet been to the DWE, but are planning to, here's a great offer. Half-price tickets on selected weekdays during the School Term.
I've booked for the Ninja and myself!

Re: The Doctor Who Experience
The Ninja managed to get a pass out of hospital today, so went managed to go using the half price offer. Thought the interactive bit was brilliant, if a bit short, with loads of little nods that hardcore fans could salivate over. The exhibition is also excellent. Have to say though I wouldn't countenance paying the walk up price of £20.
