I nicknamed him Snarfichu, he looks a little too Pokemon for my tastes. But the rest of the pics look good.Sid Seadevil wrote:Snarf

Yep, that was my first thought on seeing him too. And now I come to think of it, I wouldn't be advising Lion-O to be feeding him after midnight either!Zoltar wrote:I nicknamed him Snarfichu, he looks a little too Pokemon for my tastes. But the rest of the pics look good.

The voice of the original Snarf was one of the most annoying things about the character. This can only be an improvement.Sid Seadevil wrote: Snarf will be mute.
Re: Thundercats Reboot: First look
I'd definitely agree. Him being mute was a wish my younger self made several times. The Browncoat Cat wrote:The voice of the original Snarf was one of the most annoying things about the character. This can only be an improvement.Sid Seadevil wrote: Snarf will be mute.

While in other news - the twins are definitely in also. Oh and on the toy front all of the toys are interactive with each other in one form of another - including the action figures.

Re: Thundercats Reboot: First look
This trailer posted on the SFX web site looks very interesting. It looks as if they have completely rewritten the back story. That the Thundercats are some sort of royalty and the new series is akin to Merlin.
Re: Thundercats Reboot: First look
It's actually not really that different, Cat. Lion-O was always royalty, IIRC - and the others, well certainly Tigra and Cheetara at least, were portrayed as being members of Noble Houses. It seems as if we're just actually going to see some of this backstory this time around, rather than merely getting verbal hints.
Oh, and there's definitely a very George Lucas prequel trilogy feel to this teaser... it looks - and more importantly, feels good.

Re: Thundercats Reboot: First look
The animation certainly looks better than the original. It is nice to see the backstory. If I remember the original correctly, the rest of the population of the Thundercat's homeworld were supposed to be revived from cryogenics, once Lion-O and pals had successfully tamed the new homeworld. It looks like we mightb be seeing why they had to abandon the original planet in this version.
Re: Thundercats Reboot: First look
Actually Elliott and I watched the opening four episodes of the original series last weekend. Episode one opens with the on-screen destruction of Thundera, during which Lion-O's ship is basically doing a Galactica and acting as protector to the small fleet of ships carrying what remains of the Thundercat race. Halfway through the episode those survivor ships are destroyed by the mutants and Lion-O's ship is seriously damaged.
Lion-O and the others are then placed into suspended animation while Jaga elects to remain awake to pilot the crippled ship to a suitable habitable planet.
So, as I said, we're just getting a much more extensive view of the backstory in this new version by the looks of it.

It does look good. I like the character designs better in motion than I did as static images.Sid Seadevil wrote:Oh, and there's definitely a very George Lucas prequel trilogy feel to this teaser... it looks - and more importantly, feels good.

Absolutely. Actual movement makes all the difference.Zoltar wrote:It does look good. I like the character designs better in motion than I did as static images.
