So, the 50th Anniversary Special for Doctor Who is looming. And it seems certain middle-aged actors are becoming more obsessed with landing a part in what they are certain must be some sort of multi-Doctor story. They aren't getting a whole lot of encouragement from family, they can't get Steven Moffat to return their phone calls, they're jealous of Paul McGann, and they've just discovered that John Barrowman is a closet heterosexual with a wife and two really annoying kids. While these former Doctors seem to be able to break into the Cardiff studios, breaking back out seems to be a bit harder that first thought, particularly when you have a security guard named "Rosie" who wants your autograph. And then there's the 27 minute message from RTD...
So what did you think of this little humorous aside to celebrate the 50th? Now we apparently know how it was that Peter Davison managed to obtain a copy of the script for "Day Of The Doctor."

Yes. it was great fun. Really, this fiftieth anniversary has far exceeded my expectations - and the return of missing episodes was the icing on top!

This was just wonderful. Shame it's just a one off really. "The Adventures of the Classic Doctor's" could be quite fun

Re: Rate "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot"
The hardest part about this for me was trying to decide who got the best line. My contenders:
Peter Davison:
"Oh, get you priorities straight, Sylvester! This isn't some flash-in-the-pan $500 Million blockbuster This is the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special!"
Colin Baker:
"This contact of yours wouldn't happen to have a Scottish accent and be married to your daughter?"
Sylvester McCoy:
"So, no plan C then?"
And RTD:
"I could have my own catch phrase like 'quelle dommage.' Ha, ha! Quelle dommage, Davros!!"
And how great is it that they got Ian McKellan and Peter Jackson to do cameos?
Brilliant little send up.

Re: Rate "The Five(ish) Doctors Reboot"
I saw it suggested elsewhere that Davison, Baker and McCoy basically just did the pilot episode for the Who-related version of Last Of The Summer Wine...

Well, it's about time that series got a reboot.Nick Barlow wrote:I saw it suggested elsewhere that Davison, Baker and McCoy basically just did the pilot episode for the Who-related version of Last Of The Summer Wine...

I thought this was brilliant. The John Barrowman stuff was inspired. 5/5.

I was hoping to find this on the Day Of The Doctor DVD when it reached me. Sadly, no such luck.

I have a feeling that clearances for DVD release would be tricky. Have to make do with the DVD-R I recorded from the red button.

I was hoping some enterprising, clever person at whatever company compiles the content for the disc might have buried The Five(ish) Doctors as some hidden Easter Egg somewhere in the menu as a 50th Anniversary Treat.

Well, it would be in keeping with series history. Remember that in homage to Blink, the Series 3 box set contained an Easter Egg. And I've just found that the 2009 Specials Box set also contained an Easter Egg.

Great fun. made me laugh. Sylvester is just hilarious. I was at a convention and he was there right after he had hip surgery and he was using a scooter to get around. He went around the convention hotel "photobombing" peoples pictures. Just have to love him.
