What did you think of the penultimate episode of Nu Who's first series?

You're really not sure where things atre going for the first 20 minutes. However what transpires is brilliant, culminating in possibly the finest 5 minutes of Who ever. And the "Rose I'm coming to get you" speech is a piece of genius from RTD.

So a shoehorn 5/5 from me. Smile

I have to confess, upon first viewing, I also found the first twenty minutes or so a bit unsure of itself. The thought that we were revisiting the scene of "The Long Game" certainly didn't inspire confidence. But if you stay with it, the story unfolds in a pretty solid way.

You actually get a clue to who the 'real' nemesis is in the form of the Anne-droid, and the two "What Not To Wear" droids who defabricate Jack. But the actual reveal at the end gives us one of Chris Eccleston's finest moments of the series. I give this a 4/5

3/5: it's going to date horribly. But that's the danger of putting in as many pop culture references as humanly possible.

It's still a good bit of telly, and as said above Eccleston is marvellous.

4/5. An uneven start but a hell of a finish. The "I'm coming to get you" speech was not only a great scene in and of itself but it really felt like The Doctor was fully remembering what he was capable of after a period of still being walking wounded. Brilliant ending.
