Global Chemicals, in Wales, is a very big company, and they seem to be producing some sort of glowing green toxic by-product that they simply dump.  And it's causing mutations: giant glowing green slugs.  The Doctor and Jo are brought in to investigate, and Jo meets a man named Clifford Jones who will change her life.  Meanwhile, a certain Mike Yates of UNIT is sent under-cover to infiltrate Global Chemicals, and makes a rather startling discovery: the company's Managing Director isn't simply unscrupulous, he's inhuman.

So, what did you think of the story that ended Season 10, and saw the departure of Jo Grant after three years?

The pinnacle of the Pertwee era for me. Thoughtful, ahead of its time, iconic maggots & a tearful send off for Jo. Wonderful stuff. 5/5.

My abiding memory of this story is at the very end, when the Doctor just quietly climbs aboard Bessie, and drives away all alone, as a party to celebrate Jo and Cliff's engagement is going on. That was a marvelously done moment, and you can begin to appreciate where the "Lonely God" meme from RTD came from.

5/5 from me as well.
