A circle of stones called The Nine Maidens. A renewal in Druidic rites involving the worship of the goddess the Cailleach. And an archeologist named Emilia Rumsford studying the stone circle. These are the things that greet our Time Lord duo as the search for the third segment to the Key To Time takes them to modern day (er, late 1970s) Earth. What follows is an attempt on Romana's life, evidence that these huge stones can actually move- and worse, can absorb blood to function- and the revelation that suspended above the ring in hyperspace is a prison ship with mechanized judges on board. So, where's the third segment? And how does the mysterious Vivian Fay figure into all this?

It's a whodunit with an unmistakable Who twist. So, what did you think of the story of the third segment? A lovely bejeweled necklace, or just enough rope to hang itself? Let's get on with the ratings!

This is another story I really enjoyed from the K2T season. The Megara were an interesting twist, nice little commentary on the in-built bureaucracy within the legal profession. By far, though, Susan Engel as Vivian Fay stole the show for me. Her performance was sinister and cryptic at the same time, until she struck.

4/5 from me. After I watch it again, it may even be a 5.

Stand out story for me from The Key To Time. Exellent script, well filmed, some sparkling performances. 5/5.

With surprisingly good timing, I visited The Rollright Stones for the first time ever this past weekend. Splendid location!

You need very good binoculars from 5,000 feet up & 5,000 miles away.

I meant 'in person,' as you well know! Tell me, is that cliff nearby? I could re-enact the scene where Mary Tamm got pushed off with you as Romana's stand-in.
