"SKY" & "THE JENSEN CODE" : Both out on DVD
Two of the finest 1970s series are out now on Network DVD. However they're only available from their website. Both are ESSENTIAL!

In a word 'no'. In three words 'no it isn't'. Doctor Jensen in a fictional character in the series.

'ere Frank, you might know this. It's been bugging me since the 70s, and I can't find out anything about it. A TV series from the 70s about an Indian scientist with a beard who invents a cloudbusting machine, and his evil businessman twin brother, perhaps called Rav, who's trying to get the technology for his own evil ends. Rav drives a Roller with the personalised number plate RAV 1.
Does it ring any bells?

Was it a kid's drama? ITV or BBC or can't you recall?
Re: "SKY" & "THE JENSEN CODE" : Both out on DVD
I'm sure it was a kid's drama and we might have even watched it at school. Infants or Juniors, so that would narrow it down between 1975 and 1980. It's been bugging me for years!

Let me do a little bit of research and we might get you an answer!
Re: "SKY" & "THE JENSEN CODE" : Both out on DVD
You did see it at school.
It was a ten part series called Cloud Burst in 1974 as part of the Look And Read series for schools.
It was written by Catweazle and Robin Hood writer Richard Carpenter.

Re: "SKY" & "THE JENSEN CODE" : Both out on DVD
Thanks Frank! I've been trying to work it out for years.
It all comes flooding back now - I remember Wordy or whatever his name was and I was even right about the number plate and the evil brother's name.
If that was the only broadcast (1974) then I would have been watching at home, not quite yet being four.
It was also my first experience of the 'evil twin' concept!

Bloody hell, rich, I remember Cloud Burst, complete with the suspicious, leather clad, motorcycling Number 2! And lots of doubles and twins and the like.
Rather enjoyed it at junior school, but I doubt it would stand up to a repeated viewing now.

Re: "SKY" & "THE JENSEN CODE" : Both out on DVD
Review of 'Sky' now up on the blog. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It's a really odd serial, full of atmosphere, very eerie with a fab central performance from Marc Harrison.
Pacing is the big issue. It has a very disjointed feel to it and some of the performances aren't that good.
The Bristol Boys 'King of the Castle' is next. just watched episode one and it was terrific. Bloody good direction from veteran Peter Hammond. Will review it soon.
