Day 9 - A Song that makes you want to fall asleep
Two ways of looking at this - a boring song or a song that puts you in that peaceful mood perfect for nodding off? I've gone for the latter...

Day 11.
I could choose hundreds of tracks by XTC. Here's a "little-known" one from their 1982 masterpiece English Settlement.

Re: The 30 Day Song Challenge
The Stones are overrated. They've been useless many, many years - and a lot longer than is commonly suggested - but over-rated to the point of hatred?
This video actually brings together two things I hate. Coma-inducing tedium-peddlers Travis and comedy food fights. "Haha look at people getting messy in the face." It's a level of humour just about Total Wipeout. Just.

Day 13
I've seen them three times. On the third occasion I tried to convince Chas I was a pianist in a funk band. He didn't believe me.

Day 16
I really liked this when I first heard it and then it got into the charts and became far too overplayed as a result.

Day 14
Surprising myself and others with my appreciation of this song. I have been vocally Anti-Coldplay for many years, you see, but I whilst I can't stand ernest Coldplay, the big and stupid Coldplay of the last couple of years has been quite good, and this song the best of the lot.

Re: The 30 Day Song Challenge
Day 18.
Back in 1978 when I saw them at The Electric Ballroom, XTC had recently released their new single Are You Receving Me. In obvious annoyance as it hadn't got onto any playlists Andy Partridge said that he was giving it to us (the crowd) as no radio stations wanted it. And 33 years on I've still never heard it played on radio. Which is crazy as I think it's a brilliant, quirky 3 minutes of music!

Some songs should simply have been bigger than they were, this is a prime example. Damn the current state of the music industry.
