1970s Hammer Horror meets 21st Century Doctor Who. And it's set in 1974. The Witch in the Well? Well, well, let's see what the Wrinklies thought of it.

Re: Rate: "Hide"
Actually, I very much enjoyed that. And I always appreciate it when the TARDIS is depicted as sentient. Clearly, the TARDIS sees something in Clara it dislikes, rather like the way it tried to run away from Capt. Jack in Utopia. Perhaps the Twice Dead Girl is also impossible...
At any rate, I gave Hide 4/5.

Re: Rate: "Hide"
As we know, the TARDIS works in 4 dimensions, so it might be concerned with something Clara is going to do.
Re: Rate: "Hide"
Let's also remember that the TARDIS is sentient, and occasionally looks like Surranne Jones. I like it when we get the TARDIS gets a treatment to show it be a proper character, in its own right.

Re: Rate: "Hide"
For me its two different stories in one. I liked the part where it was tense scary shriek-y woman, but then its just "Oh other dimension" Lost all suspense and became about rescuing someone we know nothing about. The Clara and the TARDIS bit redeemed it. But only enough for a 3. Last week I watched Cold War about 5 times and would happily do so again and again. This weeks' I would only watch if nothing else were on. Just felt rushed and as I said at the start; like two stories.

Have you been at the cooking sherry?
If you like Surranne Jones - and of course you do,you're only human - you need to acquire the cop show Scott & Bailey. She's excellent, and there's some lovely writing in the show.

Cooking Sherry? Why, don't mind if I do...
Scott & Bailey. I shall have to see if I can find it on Netflix. Thanks for the tip!

Re: Rate: "Hide"
Another 4 here. This series is consistantly excellent.
It wasn't as scarry as the internet hyped it to be, but the shot with the 'lightening and the monster in the window' was one of the most deeply unnerving things i've ever seen from film or tv. I thought the ending was sweet but didn't really feel any attachment for the character they were trying to rescue as there was zero development there, and I loved the relationship between Clara and the TARDIS.

Re: Rate: "Hide"
On repeat viewing with last night's reprise, something caught my attention. Apparently, when Eleven re-booted the universe, the pronunciation of place names changed. To wit: Metabelis 3.
In 1974, Jon Pertwee pronounced it "Meh-ta-BEE-lis Three."
Then, in 1974, Matt Smith pronounced it "Me-TAH-bo-lis Three."
Or am I being too pedantic? No, don't answer that.
