- Spoiler:
- After last night's AwardsShowpocalypse, I was tempted to try to make some sort of Joker motivational poster. "Fandom. You don't have to be crazy to live here but it helps!"

- Brian Bolland "Killing Joke" image if you do. That would fit perfectly with what I imagine fan reaction was like last night.

Re: The Comic Thread
Just a heads up. The animated All-Star Superman appears to have manifested on the interwebs, should anyone be interested in seeing it.

Re: The Comic Thread
Anybody was interested and has now seen it.
While nowhere near the greatness of its source material - it was still highly enjoyable. Interestingly, the Hatchling, who hasn't read All-Star, enjoyed it more than I did. Which means it succeeded in its mission of pleasing a general audience and not just fans of Morrison's epic.
A win-win for DC.
Although it certainly wasn't without its faults. But they were small and pretty much forgiveable.

Re: The Comic Thread
Agreed. It was better than I expected, and I think they did a good job condensing the 12-issues to a single movie.

Absolutely. Now it's just a case of sitting back and waiting for what they do with the adaptation of Batman Year One.

And on the topic of comics, there's two "Events" on the horizon: "Flashpoint" and "Fear Itself". I'd have to say Flashpoint has my interest far more than Fear Itself does.

It's "Flashpoint" for me too. And I'm pleased to say I'm still enjoying "Brightest Day" - especially now as it's nearing its climax.

It has been very good. There were a few slow points here and there, for me, but the excellent art and the mix of characters more than made up for that.Sid Seadevil wrote:It's "Flashpoint" for me too. Same for me. I'm delighted for DC - they really are producing the best and most interesting work of the "Big Two" at the moment.Zoltar wrote:It has been very good. There were a few slow points here and there, for me, but the excellent art and the mix of characters more than made up for that.

Re: The Comic Thread
Marvel's got some great comics, but their overall universe doesn't seem to have a strong focus lately. "Heroic Age" has felt more like "It's not Dark Reign anymore" than a specific concept in and of itself.Sid Seadevil wrote:Same for me. But yes, DC is doing well. It really is remarkable how strong the Batman and Green Lantern franchises have become.

Especially Batman. And I know it's hardly dark-n'-gritty: but Batgirl is one of the consistently strongest and most consistent Bat titles on a monthly basis.
