Re: Rate "New Earth"
A silly yet solid story. Better than Xmas Invasion so 3/5 from me.

Not a patch on the Xmas Invasion - this one sucked. Worst episode since the revival. Gains a point for the Cassandra scene at the end.

Re: Rate "New Earth"
New Earth hardly exists in my brain at all. I can only remember watching it the once - first broadcast - and wasn't that impressed. A harmless runaround is how I remember it. I've just bought the Season 2 boxset, so I'll give it a score afterwards just in case I'm wrong...

Re: Rate "New Earth"
Started fine, but went horribly downhill after 20 minutes. RTD knew they were in trouble with this becuase they wanted to switch and start the season with Tooth & Claw but couldn't continuity wise.

Re: Rate "New Earth"
I'd give it a 3/5 as well. Fun, I really liked Billie and David's chemistry in it, but I think the story needs some help.

2/5. One of very few stories I might skip if viewing the entire RTD era.

Re: Rate "New Earth"
Five out of five from me. Brilliant series openner, filled to the brim with interesting ideas, witty dialogue interspersed with moments of tragedy and pathos. In End of the World I thought the character of Lady Cassandra was as flat as the CGI that realised her. In this story she is on top form.
Re: Rate "New Earth"
For all the great stuff The End of the World had in Series 1, New Earth simply fell flat. The body-swapping sub-plot was- intentionally- silly, and came off that way.
I'm afraid I can't give this more than 2/5
