What is your favourite story from Series 6 (part b)
So we voted on part a back in June - now it's time to decide on your favourite story of part b). Who knows, maybe we can even have a play-off afterwards!

Re: What is your favourite story from Series 6 (part b)
rather strangely my 2 least favourite this (half) year were by steven moffatt.
i enjoyed the girl who waited and the god complex but my favourite was closing time
- which although a bit cheesy at the end, had a lot of heart and some good jokes

Have to say I'm struggling to come up with a 'favourite' here.

Yes, at least 4 of these could be a favourite - too much quality to choose from!

The God Complex for me, but was nice to actually have to pause and think it over for once.

Or too little, depending on your point of view!
Well I'm going for "The Girl Who Waited", because it was a pleasant surprise and Gillan was extremely good in the dual roles.

I almost think any of them! I found the first half of the series quite up-and-down - I loved the 10/10 Moon 2-parter and The Doctor's Wife, but didn't think much of The Rebel Flesh (although things improved for me in the second half) and I found The Curse of the Black Spot even more disappointing. I scored this half consistently around 7, 8 or 9 out of 10s, and all are quite different stories. I'll go for the last episode for it's imagination, progress of the arc and general mentalism that worked for me, certainly rather better than A Good Man did. But ask me tomorrow and I could easily go for God Complex, Closing Time or The Girl Who Waited in particular! Looking forward to Christmas!

I'm actually quite fond of Closing Time, The God Complex and Night Terrors, but the performances in The Girl Who Waited won it for me.

Precisely why I chose The Girl Who Waited for the win. For me, the performance transcended the (all very clever) plot mechanizations that have often been too evident, to me, in recent times. That isn't to say there have not been other wonderful performances, but in this case it was integral to this story in such a way that very much "made the show."
Re: What is your favourite story from Series 6 (part b)
The Girl Who Waited for me-- did something very few pieces of fiction ever does anymore: it surprised me. As a viewer we knew Old Amy would not survive the episode, but I wasn't expecting her to be written out by the mechanism she was.
As Rich says, there were at least four episodes that could win the best story-- for me it's telling that my least favourite story was Closing Time: not an actual criticism of the story, but a testament to quality of those around it.
