Re: Music Library
It's about time we did a song from the greatest album ever recorded. Has to be the title track really:
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
If I became a millionaire, I would be surely tempted to send a copy of this to every house in the country. There aren't enough words for how crucial this song is.

I think we should have the right topointlessly insult Musegive our opinions on the music selected. Equally if anyone wants to point out the error of my ways... Perhaps if we point out something along the line of "of course, I fully understand that my arsehole is your genius..."

And I thought Survivors nailed apocolyptic dystopia... but you may be right... I listened to whole shebang and it didn't cause me any harm... perhaps I'm slowly turning into one of them... (*points*)

Right. I'm going to be concentrating on folky stuff. Something catchy from Jim Moray. All You Pretty Girls is a reworking of an XTC song into a honest to god sea shanty. This is from his remarkable album 'Low Culture'.

That was me. Glad she enjoyed. It's probably just as well it wasn't "Charlie says".
Now that someone has broken the Goth Barrier (cheers, Frank!) I can finally post:
Dominion
- The Sisters of Mercy.

Some late period Scott Walker. A superb song from the last Walker Bros. album Nite Flights
Reminds me of Glen Campbell's 'Witchita Lineman'....marvellous! God Like Genius indeed.

Back in time to before they were the punchline to a fifteen-year long joke, or purveyors of videos that cost more than the annual GDP of many countries (and consumed much of the annual product of Colombia), to the late 80s where they were a refreshing change to the big-haired soft rock that was threatening to swamp the world in Californianism:

Yes, I know, I'm breaking the rules by posting more than one song in a day. So sue me.
David Tennant has a certain Rockabilly look to him- the cut of the suit, the hair... it's slightly 1950's retro. When I think of Rockabilly, no one does it better than Brian Setzer. So I give you one of my Setzer favorites, recorded live in Tokyo in 2001:
Brian Setzer Orchestra - Stray Cat Strut/Theme from the Pink Panther

You, sir, are being sued. (Or rather, that song won't get onto the big list... whenever I get to updating it...)
I Am Kloot - The Same Deep Water As Me
