The Ratings Thread
An overnight rating of 11.7million viewers for Doctor Who : The Next Doctor. Four million more than Corronation Street. Onlybeaten by Wallace and Grommit,and no doubt that will be beaten when the official Consolidated Ratings are published.

Re: The Ratings Thread
I wonder how 'Planet of the Dead' did. I doubt it came close to those numbers. There was a certain point at which I felt I could hear a million tvs' channels being switched.

Re: The Ratings Thread
Overnights for POTD 8.4 million, 40% audience share. This doesn't include those watching on BBC HD.

Re: The Ratings Thread
Yup that's all pretty good. The final BARB ratings should put Who in the top 10 most watched programmes of the year to date.
And the 184k is the highest ever figure for BBC HD.

Re: The Ratings Thread
BARB figures for the first showing 9.54 million (excluding HD). Very good indeed, puts it 7th in the "Year to Date" chart.
An additional 205k for HD on top, with 912k watching on the Sunday evening on BBC3.

C=O,
If we assume those viewership numbers are a sort of baseline/benchmark for the specials (PotD being the first one offered), what prediction do you have for what Tennant's regeneration story does, audience-wise? Think it will top Journey's End?

Re: The Ratings Thread
Presuming we're talking January 1st 2010 for the regeneration episode, I think the BARB figures for the first showing (including HD) will be 15 million +.
