Re: "The Waters Of Mars"
BBC-America has not announced a date yet. (Not that this matters much, I'm quite sure everyone on this side of the Atlantic will find a way to watch it within hours of when it airs in the UK.)
So, if they follow the pattern they used over the summer with Torchwood: Children of Earth, BBC-America should show it about three weeks later. So, first weekend in December?
On the other hand, if they employ the delay they did with Planet of the Dead, it'll be three months. That would make it February 2010. I'd be surprised if they did that. I mean, the BBC-A website is hyping the specials as "the last stories with David Tennant as the Doctor," so this makes me think they believe the network can get ratings by not delaying them.

Re: "The Waters Of Mars"
What were the odds on it showing the weekend I'm out of the country recreating Omega's chase through downtown Amsterdam? Wonder if you can get BBC One there? Wonder if I can find a bar that'll be showing it?

I did that walk when I was Amsterdam in the summer of 1989 (College summer course on Planning & Landscape Architecture in northern Europe). Or at least I attempted to. I remember it involving several locations in varying parts of the city. And if you walked the whole route, you could easily spend the better part of a full day doing it.
I'd recommend you put the trip off until Spring, when the tulips are in bloom.

If I'd actually intended to do it, you'd have put me right off. I'd probably take a 'photo if I walked past one, but that's about as much effort as I'm prepared to put in. I am a bad fanboy.
(Plus, I'd have to watch 'Arc of Infinity' again beforehand, and I'm not sure I'm prepared to do that...)

Hey, blame Wilco - they picked the date, not us...

Fair point well made - it's gonna be the iPlayer when I get back, isn't it?

And the answer is -
December 19 is when BBC America will air the Waters of Mars.

December 19th? Good thing I plan to watch it 'by other means' when it premieres in November. December 19th would probably mean I'd have to forego watching "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "The Year Without A Santa Claus." If I don't get my seasonal visit from that Christmas tree Charlie Brown picked out, and from the Heat & Snow Misers, I tend to get a little grumpy.

Ludicrous scheduling. And BBCA get it when it was actually meant to be broadcast.

We could all watch it when broadcast on BBC1 and then watch it again on 19 December*. It wouldn't be that great a hardship...The Co=Ordinator wrote:Ludicrous scheduling. And BBCA get it when it was actually meant to be broadcast.

Re: "The Waters Of Mars"
Yes, it's a brilliant trailer. I'm completely hooked now.
Was anyone else struck by the theme that permeated that clip? "What happens here, happens." "It's a fixed point." "I'm sorry, you're going to die." A little bit of foreshadowing on the Doctor's part? I think he knows his end is approaching- his parting with Sarah Jane last week admitted this.
I think we should prepare ourselves for a bit of a funeral atmosphere for the remaining three specials.

Have y'all seen the (last two minutes of) this 3-minute clip supposedly from the Guardian website? (Yes the first minute is mostly familiar...) I don't remember seeing quite these cuts before, but I've been out of the loop...

I've seen them, but those are the best quality images/video of those scenes I've come across. Great stuff!

I'm optimistic that this will be the best special since The Christmas Invasion.

So am I
But maybe it'll only be the best until the broadcast of the last 2 DT specials I can't decide which one I'm most looking forward to !
